About the show:
There will be approximately 120 exhibition stands, plus demonstrations, interactive areas, live music, artist talks, café, RAW Talent area and our brand new art&Home section.
We are looking for budding interior designers to design and create a room set to showcase at art&York 2018.
We are looking for creative people and budding interior designers, with a knack for creating inspirational spaces, to create their own room set at art&York 2018, featuring key pieces of artwork from our talented professional artists.
You don’t have to be a professional or even have experience with curating interiors, we are simply looking for people with a real passion for creating and a great eye.
You will be provided with a blank room set complete with a plug point and spot lights to design and create your interior however you like.
Art on display in these room sets must be from the artists taking part in art&York 2018 and we’d like to see at least 3 artists featured within each room . Visit our website to see their inspirational artwork and choose the artists who’s work you’d love to feature in your design.
For example: do you love everything contemporary and colourful? We could team you up with one of our fantastic sculptors who create dramatic abstract artworks. Or maybe your style is more natural and would suit a collection of hand thrown ceramic vessels, with over 120 artists creating unique artworks there are plenty of possibilities for creative collaborations.
Your room sets will then be judged at art&York and the winning set designer will be awarded with their very own bespoke hand crafted art& trophy, a promotional article on our website and a prize of £200 to spend at the show!
Sounds like you? Apply to take part by filling in our online application form below.

Comments from artists who took part in our previous shows:
“A huge thank you for all your hard work, I did enjoy myself and have found lots of new customers which is fantastic.”
“Thanks for organising such a fantastic event in York. I would also echo the comments that were made about the quality of the work and I felt honoured to have been selected to participate. I think the balance between activities, demonstrations, points of interest and artists selling their work was perfect and I would have loved to have been a visitor at the show. I’d definitely be interested in participating in the show again.”
“I wanted to say that I loved being part of it….so rare to be involved in a show that has such a high consistency of work.”
“It was such a fantastically well organized event, the volunteers were lovely too. I had a really good weekend thank you. All of the visitors I spoke to said they were really impressed with the standard of pieces exhibited, they loved the mix of artists and designer makers, and the demos, talks and workshops made the event extra special. The racecourse is a great venue, it was as easy as it could be to park and set up / break the stands down.”
“I had a wonderful time at the event, with customers really interested and appreciative of the quality of work, and understanding that good work costs money. Seamlessly organised with a very supportive atmosphere from organisers and other makers, new friends made, and the refreshments and ‘break-out’ space much appreciated.”
“We just wanted to say thanks for a really enjoyable weekend. We were pleased with sales and feel that there is real potential there for the future. As we said to you, we felt there was a lovely relaxed atmosphere even for set-up! We hope to be back again next year. ”
