art& York is freshly branded, improved and developed to be the major art show in Yorkshire.
About the show:
There will be approximately 120 exhibition stands, plus demonstrations, interactive areas, installations, mini workshops, café and RAW Talent area.
We are looking for a balance of creative disciplines including, painting, sculpture, jewellery, photography, lighting, textiles, stone carving, fashion, glass and more.
All stands will be manned by a representative of the Gallery/Collective and we are also looking for artists open to demonstrating their work.
As with all our shows we aim to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for artists and visitors alike.
We aim to give Galleries & Collectives the chance to sell and receive commissions in a creative & professional environment without paying any commission.

Exhibition Space & Prices:
Art Display Panel Stand:
We use a Art Display Panel system which creates walls of plywood painted white to create a professional gallery type display.
The Art Display Panels are approximately 2.4m high and are 1m wide each. Depending on the stand size you’ve booked you’ll receive that size stand made up of these panels which creates a bay for you to display within.
You are allowed to nail, screw or stick to the Panels when hanging your Art. Please note: all stands must be left clear of any additions at the end of the show. You are not allowed to paint your Art Display Panels.
Each Art Display Panel Stand will have 1 LED spotlight per linear metre as standard.
All the above is included in the price of the stand.
Plug sockets are available @ £50 each for the 3 day show – just click this option on the application form.
Please note: a professional & safe finish to all displays of work is required. Artists who leave velcro/nails/screws etc on their stands at the end of the show will be charged £50. Thank you.
The price includes: three sessions of selling over three days; your own exhibition space created with Art Display Panels; your own profile page with multiple images plus description of your Gallery/Collective work and link to your website on our website; the chance to have your image chosen to be on our promotional flyer plus your work promoted via our website and social media.
You will also have a Standard Listing in our Event Magazine listing you by stand number, short description of your Gallery/Collective and website. If you wish to have an Upgraded Listing in our Event Magazine with image and increased text – see options on the application form.
Practicalities at the show:
There is free parking for artists for the full weekend and loading and unloading is easy and accessible with ground floor access. You cannot stay overnight in your vehicle however you can leave your vehicle overnight if you are staying in a local hotel/B&B etc.
The venue is light and airy and the aisles wide and comfortable for artists and visitors alike.
We have a separate storage space for packaging materials – although your vehicle will only be a maximum of 10 mins away.
There is a non-refundable application processing fee of £10.00.
Rules of eligibility:
We accept applications from Galleries or a group of 2 artists or more artists exhibiting together under a Collective name in this section.

Only Galleries and Collectives showcasing exceptionally high quality will be selected.
We are looking for Galleries & Collectives who sell original artworks. We ask all Galleries & Collectives who sell limited edition prints, bronze casts etc to clearly state those pieces of work that are editions on their application forms with edition numbers.
Any galleries/collectives selling jewellery must make sure that all jewellery is authentically hallmarked as appropriate.
We are not looking for Galleries/Collectives who sell larger numbers of editions or giclee prints and cards of their art works as the main percentage of work. Editions must be 100 or less.
Availability at the show:
‘Meet the artist’ is so important to us and our visitors therefore we expect all selected artists/gallery owners to be at the show each day meeting the visitors and talking about the processes of their work.
We expect to see professional photographs of the art work you wish to sell and this will form the basis of our selection. Poor images reflect badly on even amazing work. We expect to see the kind of images we would be happy to print, put forward for press and put on our website.
A plain background and a sharp image can really help.
Images and descriptions sent will be used for publicity purposes for successful artists and will be used to create profile pages on our website – so please consider the images you send carefully.
Please give us the scale/size/price of your work.
All successful applicants must have current Public Liability Insurance on the days of the art& show and bring a copy of their PLI to the show.
Deadline: Sunday 3rd March 2019 by MIDNIGHT.
